Applying for Financial Aid
ELIGIBILITY
|
DEADLINE:
Our college's priority application processing deadline is APRIL 1st.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is processed on a first come, first serve basis throughout the academic year. The earlier you apply the better your award offer. You are applying for Fall, Spring, and/or Summer Sessions. You must reapply each school year beginning in January. Download an easy to follow guide and checklist to apply for financial aid at our college!
STEP 1:
Complete the UH Systemwide Admissions Application
to our college. You must be accepted into a degree or certificate program offered by Kaua'i CC. Continuing
students do not need to reapply for admissions. It is highly recommended that you enroll in a minimum of six
credits to qualify for most financial aid programs.
STEP 2:
Complete the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA by following instructions carefully. If you need assistance, call 1-800-4FED-AID (433-3243)
or contact the college.
Walk-in assistance is provided at the Financial Aid Office, Mon-Fri between 1 and 4 p.m. If you have an unusual circumstance, we recommend you make an appointment.
Be sure to list Kaua'i CC's Federal School Code: 001614. Click here to search for additional college codes. An on-line FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA may be filed by clicking on the banner below:
HINTS:
Signatures are required before a FAFSA can be processed.
Remember your PIN Number and use it each year to apply.
Do not mail tax returns or letters to the Central Processor.
Retain copies of all documents and worksheets used to complete the FAFSA.
STEP 3:
The Central Processor will generate a Student Aid Report (SAR). You may call (800) 433-3243 for your application status and to request duplicate reports. Review and read the SAR comments to see if you need to make any corrections or updates. Walk-in assistance is available at the Financial Aid Office, Mon-Fri, 1-4 p.m.
The SAR will be electronically sent to the college after it has been processed. The college will use the SAR to determine your financial need, your eligibility, and your awards. If you are selected for verification, the Financial Aid Office will request the documents you used to complete your FAFSA. Access to some of the common forms used to complete verification is provided at this web site. You may check on your financial aid status by entering your myuhportal. Please keep the Financial Aid Office informed of any changes to your address or phone.
PLEASE NOTE:
The assistance that you are applying for when you complete the FAFSA is based on financial need. If you do not feel that you will demonstrate need, there are several other resources that you can apply
for and some of those resources are described in our scholarship section. You may also be interested in learning more about the student loan programs.
