HOW SOON CAN I APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID? 
JANUARY 1st is when the cycle for financial aid begins for the upcoming school year. It is recommended that you apply early in order to get the most gift-aid you could qualify for.

DO I HAVE TO APPLY EVERY SEMESTER TO GET FINANCIAL AID? 
No, once you submit the FAFSA you are applying for the entire school year which includes fall, spring, and summer sessions.

You must reapply each school year beginning in January.

AM I ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID? 

•    U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen. 

•    Have a high school diploma, GED, or pass an approved test. 

•    Not owe money on a federal grant or not in default on a federal loan. 

•    Demonstrate financial need for the funds. 

•    Register with the Selective Service (male students only). 

•    Meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy requirements. 

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING? 
Our college's priority application processing deadline is APRIL 1st.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is continually processed on a first come, first serve basis throughout the academic year. The earlier you apply the better your award offer.

• The college must receive your properly executed FAFSA by the last day of your enrollment period to receive financial aid.

• If you were selected for a process called verification, all documentation must be received within 120 days after the end of your enrollment period.

• Please check for missing documents at your MyUH Portal.

   

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT I CAN APPLY FOR?
The assistance that you are applying for when you complete the FAFSA is based on financial need. If you do not feel that you will demonstrate need, there are several other resources that you can apply for and some of those resources are described in our scholarship section.
