Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

| Classified students enrolled in courses applicable to their primary major | |
| Maintain a cumulative and current grade point average of 2.0 | |
| Complete at least 70% of all attempted credits at the end of each semester |
Time Limitation
A maximum timeframe of 150% of the number of credits required for degree or certificate completion. Example: Associate of Arts Degree = 60 credits, 90 credits maximum aid eligibility

| The following grades are considered as credits attempted but not earned: F, N, NC, W, and I. An "I"ncomplete grade wil be calculated as no credit until it reverts to a letter grade and is posted to the student's academic record | |
| Repeated courses will count towards total attempted hours | |
| Dropped classes after the erase period (3rd week of a semester) are counted in total attempted hours | |
| Any student who receives ALL failing grades will be placed on suspension the following semester | |
| Credit by exam courses will not count in a student's total enrollment for financial aid purposes |
| PROBATION | |

| While on probation a student may receive financial aid | |
| During the probationay semester a student must earn ALL credits attempted and maintain or achieve a semester GPA of 2.0 | |
| Students will remain on continued probation until the cumulative GPA is at least 2.0 |

| Fails to achieve the minimum 2.0 GPA, or does not earn ALL credits attempted during a probationary semester | |
| Financial aid cannot be reinstated for any student who earned 150% of the credits required for their major | |
| Students who do not successfully complete any (no passing grades) of their courses (all F, W, and/or N) in a semester |
FIVE (5) YEAR FORGIVENESS POLICY
Students who have not enrolled in courses at Kauai CC in five or more years and are on financial aid suspension during their previous attendance will automatically be put on probation during their returning semester. Students are required to meet the requirements for probation removal.
Appeal Procedure:
A student may appeal their status by completing an appeal form.
Appeals will only be considered for the following reasons:
1. enrolled in remedial level classes
2. extended personal illness/injury
3. death in the family
4. reasons other tan medial (i.e. military activation)
Appeal Deadline : by the last day of the erase period, 3 weeks into the semester, see college calendar for exact dates.
