Light refreshments will be provided at 4:00 p.m. in the Fine Dining Room. You must report by 4:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center for dress rehearsal. Entering, standing, sitting, and exiting procedures will be rehearsed. Do not be late!

DRESS

You must be dressed in your cap and gown when you arrive at dress rehearsal. Caps should be worn at all times except during the playing of the national anthem and Hawai`i Pono`i, when men should remove their caps. Your tassel should be worn on the right side.

There is no place to store personal belongings. Women — handbags cannot be carried. Traditionally, leis are not presented or worn until after the ceremony. Please note that no balloons are allowed in the Center.

You may purchase your cap and gown at the Bookstore for $27.50. Please stop by or call the Bookstore at 245-8273 to place your order. If you did not previously request to participate in the commencement ceremony but would like to do so now, please contact the Bookstore immediately for cap and gown availability. Graduation attire for men is a shirt with collar, long black pants, and black or dark-colored shoes. Attire for women is a dress (must be shorter than gown) and black or dark-colored shoes.

NAME CARDS

Pick up your name card at the desk in the lobby when you report for rehearsal (do not alter your name card). You will be handing your card to the announcer on stage before you walk across the stage.

YOUR GUESTS

All guests, including children and infants, need admit cards for entry and seating in the Performing Arts Center until 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Open seating at 6:00 p.m. In compliance with fire code regulations, standing in the back of the theater is not allowed. Therefore, everyone must be seated. Please note that no balloons are allowed in the Center.

Parents with infants and young children may want to consider viewing the live broadcast of the graduation ceremony in our spacious Campus Center Dining Room.

AFTER THE CEREMONY

Meet your family and friends in the parking lot in the front of the Performing Arts Center by the appropriate signs.

DIPLOMAS AND GRADUATION FEES

Because semester records will not be processed by commencement day, the conferring of degrees at the ceremony is provisional, pending verification that degree requirements have been met.

If you have not already done so, please pay your $15.00 graduation fee (for diploma and processing costs) at the Business Office. This should be done as soon as possible. Diplomas will be available for pickup at the Admissions & Records Office the beginning of July. Please call the office at 245-8224 for confirmation.
