Description: A survey of the Hawaiian and Polynesian environment in relationship to migrations, voyaging, and folklore. The course will provide the student with the basics of noninstrument navigation and voyaging as utilized in the voyages of H_ok_ule`a, Hawai`i Loa, and Makali`i. In addition, the student will understand and appreciate the cultural impact of long distance voyaging.
