Registration Overrides
The following tutorial illustrates the steps an instructor must perform in doing a registration override in the MyUH Information & Services Portal.
When an instructor is asked to perform a registration override, one or more of the following will apply. Those marked in bold are the most frequently applicable:
Capacity Override
Campus Override
Class Level Override
College Override
Corequisite Override
Degree Override
Duplicate Class Override
Level Override
Links Override
Major Override
Prerequisite Override (also includes Placement Scores)
Program Override
Repeat Hours Override
Repeat Times Override
Special Approval Override (includes Instructor or Academic Advisor Approval)
Time Conflict Override
There are other overrides specific to a campus:
Hilo Reg Authorization
Hilo Reg. Permit
Manoa Closed Approval Override
Manoa Closed Class Override
Manoa Dup/Repeat Crse Override
Manoa Level Override (Chair)
Manoa Placement Test Results
Manoa Time Override
You will need one of the following: (1) a student’s UH ID Number, or UH Username or SS#, and (2) one of the associated reasons listed above in order to complete the override task. The student must provide the information in (1) and should provide a reason why he/she was unable to complete the registration process. If there is no reason is provided, you will be unable to determine which of the above override to use.
Please note: The registration system will flag only one error at a time, so the entire process of registering and overriding may have to be repeated if another error occurs.
Late Registration
First Week of Class: If a student wants to enroll and is unsuccessful in registering, the instructor may perform any of the above registration overrides.
Second Week of Class: If a student wants to enroll, a “Late Late Registration” form must be obtained from Student Services. An instructor’s approval (signature) is required with the instructor performing any of the above applicable registration overrides. The student must then seek a Counselor to complete the registration process.
Third Week of Class: If a student wants to enroll, the “Late Late Registration” form must be completed. An instructor’s approval (signature) is required and any registration overrides may be cleared. An additional approval (signature) is required by the Dean of Instruction, the Dean of Student Services, or the Chancellor. The Counselor must then complete the registration process.
