Borrowing Books from Other UH Libraries
- How do you borrow books or articles from other UH System Libraries?
If you are a KCC student or a
student on Kauai taking distance classes through the University
of Hawaii system, you can order books and/or articles from
the UH system through the IntraSystem Loan Service.
- How long does it take to receive the books or articles?
Requests generally take between 5-7 days.
-
What is the cost
of the service?
There are no charges for books or for journal articles under 50 pages. There is a charge
of $3.00 for each microfiche.
-
How do I get a form
if I don't come to the KCC campus for my class(es)?
If you cannot come into the library,
use the
online form (not available from KCC campus computers), or call the reference desk, or fax us your
request.
Phone: 245-8253
FAX: 245-8294
-
What do I include
in my ILL request?
Please include your name, how you can be notified when the
item arrives (e-mail or phone), the date you need the item,
the full citation of the
item: author, title, and UH call number for books; author,
article title, journal title, volume, issue number, date,
and page numbers for journal articles.
-
How long can I keep
ILL items?
The length of the loan period is usually 4
weeks. The loan period begins when the book is received at
the KCC Library, so you should pick up your item as soon as
you are notified. You do not have to return photocopied journal
articles.
