Housing and Transportation
Kaua‘i, the Garden Isle, is the northernmost island in the Hawaiian chain. Kaua‘i Community College is centrally located in Puhi, just west of Lihue and the airport and is the only location for higher education on the island.
Housing:
Kauai Community College is considered a commuter campus as there is no on-site housing available. Off campus housing is available with rentals in the community plentiful. As with everything though on Kauai; everything is reasonably expensive. This is the price that one pays for "living and studying in paradise". Transportation:
Transportation on Kauai is mainly by auto. There is a public bus system but routes are limited and frequency of pickup requires patience. As a nursing student you will often be required to meet a tight schedule between classes and clinical experiences with many clinicals being located away from bus routes. A dependable auto is your best bet for being on time in the locations where you will study.
Activities:
Activities are abundant on Kaua‘i. Education is the top priority but relaxation and cultural experiences are important in the lives of KCC students. The beaches are plentiful and pristine.
